Sorting limits

Table C–2 lists the limits for sorting data (unless otherwise specified).

Category	Limit
Levels	1 to 16 columns or expressions.
Size	Typically, 1 to 197 bytes (that is, approximately 200 bytes minus some overhead per column and expression). The size limit depends on the number of columns and expressions you are sorting. Each column and expression uses up some number of available bytes.
